It’s easy to forget why we do this every year. In the frustration of actually being race directors – when the weather continually refuses to cooperate, when our signage doesn’t arrive until three hours after the race starts, whenever things just don’t seem to be going right. It’s easy to forget.

But on Saturday, we remembered. We remembered who we do this for and why we do this. We remembered Danielle and her smile and her laugh and her ability to light up a room just by being in it. We remembered how she left us too soon and what her loss means to us. We remembered the kids who learn about her through the scholarships they receive in her name.

You all helped us remember why we do this. We cannot thank you enough for your support. Not only do you help to bring Danielle’s memory to life year after year, but you help to bring opportunities to those that may have never had them in the first place.

Thank you to our runners and walkers for braving the elements (yet again) on race day, to the Hull High JV Girls Soccer team for standing in the pouring rain for nearly an hour to ensure that our racers were well-hydrated, to Hull’s finest for keeping the roads (and directions) clear, to DCR for publicizing our event on signs throughout town, to LOCAL02045 for donating your entire dining room and a delicious spread for our after party, to our raffle donors for your amazing prizes, to our many race sponsors, our selfless volunteers, and all of our supporters. It takes a village and we are so appreciative of how each of you came together to make it a truly special day.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts – we appreciate your love and support more than you know.

With love and our deepest gratitude,
Bill, Dee, Nikki, Marissa, and Janine
